ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client helps hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies transform raw information into intelligent, actionable insights — from optimizing supply chains to predicting patient needs. As a fast-growing HealthTech startup, we combine data science, healthcare systems, and innovation to transform decision-making in the medical sector across Africa.
We are now looking for a smart, ethical, proactive Accountant who is excited to build systems from the ground up and support the financial backbone of a high-growth data-driven company.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate and updated financial records, ledgers, and reconciliations
- Handle accounts receivables and payables, invoicing, billing, and vendor payments
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Manage payroll, statutory filings (KRA, NSSF, NHIF, PAYE, VAT, WH-T), and compliance schedules
- Support annual audits and work with external auditors
- Develop internal financial controls and accounting processes suited for a startup
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, cash-flow projections, and financial planning
- Ensure compliance with Accounting Standards, Tax Regulations, and Company Policies
- Work closely with management to align finance with business model performance
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- CPA-K
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years proven experience in accounting
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws, IFRS, and financial reporting standards
- Experience using accounting software & digital tools
- High integrity, confidentiality, and strong analytical mindset
- Ability to work independently and set up finance structures from scratch
- Passionate about technology, data, or the healthcare sector is a plus
Salary KSh142,345 per month
