SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
- Perform routine system updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot MikroTik routers, VPNs, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
- Assist in managing and troubleshooting network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with CCTV equipment /document system configurations, maintenance activities, and service logs
- Help maintain network security protocols and access controls
- Collaborate with administrator to optimize network performance and reliability to resolve user issues in a timely manner.
- Provide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
- Assist in setting up and configuring user accounts, email, and access permissions.
- Assist in implementing and managing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Perform routine data backups and ensure data integrity.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Prepare reports on system performance and incident resolutions.
- Assist in implementing and enforcing security policies and protocols.
- Monitor system logs for security breaches and unauthorized access.
- Participate in security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement technology solutions that support business objectives.
- Assist in evaluating and recommending IT hardware and software purchases.
- Training or directing users on the correct use of software and hardware within the system
- Performing problem-solving tasks when alerted by a user or monitoring system
- The ability to work and collaborate within a team
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong understanding of computer systems, networking, and IT infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems or any other is a plus.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Any relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Associate) is a plus.
Salary KSh30,000 to KSh35,000 per month
